Tourists are a little frequent in Ko Tan. The island is accessible only by boat. The usual way to Ko Tan is from the fishing village Thong Krut on the south coast of Samui, which faces Ko Tan. It is possible to arrange individual day trips to Ko Tan there.
There are also companies offering trips to the island from other locations, including a longer journey on larger and more comfortable boats. The island has several beaches suitable for snorkeling. The island is surrounded by coral reefs, which survived and partly recovered from the widespread dynamite fishing in the region until the 1980s.
The most convenient snorkeling trips are available in Koh Samui. Just off the south coast of Samui, a group of tiny islands offers great snorkeling, reachable by speedboat. The trip starts at 2.00 PM and finishes at 7.00 PM
